SRI Week 2010
a. Description Discover the Sustainable and Socially Responsible Investment Week – from October 18th to October 24th 2010 – and take the chance to learn more about it!
With Sustainable & Socially Responsible Investment (SRI), you can generate return while advocating responsible behaviour towards sustainable development.
The Sustainable and Socially Responsible Investment Week is a campaign to ensure that everyone knows that they have sustainable and socially responsible options when it comes to their finance and investment decisions. Several questions will be addressed: how to integrate environmental, social, ethical and/or cultural criteria in portfolios, what are the relevant questions to be asked when assessing the performance of SRI funds ....
BELSIF, the 'Belgian Sustainable and Socially Responsible Investment Forum', is the coordinator and organiser of the SRI Week. BELSIF is a non profit organization whose aim is to stimulate, promote and support all types of sustainable and socially responsible investments (SRI) since 2004.
BELSIF's more than 20 members include financial advisers, asset managers, charities, banks, research providers, insurances, and other non-governmental organisations.
b. Program
The preliminary programme is detailed hereunder (only the activities whose program is already detailed are published, but other activities will be added later): Activities organised by Belsif & its members: - October 18th: (Opening event) The European trends in SRI-assets. Does Belgium keep its leading position? – organised by Belsif [PROGRAMME]
- October 22nd: Human Capital, a Capital Asset – organised by AXA IM Benelux [PROGRAMME]
- October/November: Campaign over SRI for retail & private clients where partnerships with local NGOs (Plan BE, Natuurpunt/Natagora, Rode Kruis and Max Havelaar) will be pushed forward – organised by BNP Paribas Fortis.
- October: Chat session for the public with internal & external SRI experts (presentations and Q&A) on De Tijd's web platform– organised by KBC in partnership with De Tijd
- October: panel round the sustainable research process and over the dialogue with companies in this context – organised by Triodos Bank Belgium.
Activities organised by non Belsif's members: - October 18th: Integrating ESG into Emerging Europe investing – organised by Limestone [PROGRAMME]
- October19-20th: ESG Strategies for the Sustainable Investor 2010 – organised by IQPC [PROGRAMME]
- October 21st: Presentation of the results of the study conducted over pension funds' transparency – organised by BVPI (Belgian pension funds association).
c. Participate
The project call (hyperlink), is over (deadline was June 4th).
However, you can still involve your organisation by promoting this week. Please enter in contact with Grégory Gil Suarez (info@belsif.be or +32 (0) 494 16 52 24) who is in charge of the coordination of the campaign and who will provide you the full programme, promo material, etc.
Please note also that as organiser of one event during the SRI Week, you have to promote the whole week, not only your event. Thanks.
